We are pleased to present our latest project: a recording of songs with piano accompaniment by Beethoven's contemporary Johann Joseph Rösler (1771-1812).
Rösler's music has recently experienced a renaissance. Many of his autographs have been published on imslp.org, some of his works have appeared in modern editions and have been performed; his monography has been published and Rösler's orchestral works were presented in our publishing house in 2018.
His collection Sechs Gesänge mit Begleitung des Pianoforte, (Six songs with accompaniment of the pianoforte) however, still remains elusive to the musical public. These settings of poems by Goethe, Weisse, Jacobi and others are more like through-composed cantatas, which makes them quite exceptional in the contemporary repertoire. Because we believe they will be a delight for listeners, singers and pianists, we are preparing a project with concerts, CD recording and a modern edition.
